Marshall Bruce Mathers III, known professionally as Eminem, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Born on October 17, 1972, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Eminem spent his childhood between Missouri and Michigan, eventually settling in Detroit in his teens.

He began rapping at the age of 14 with a high school friend, adopting the names “Manix” and “M&M,” which later evolved into Eminem.
